A dual band router broadcasts both a 2.4ghz and a 5.0ghz frequency and you can choose which one to connect to. This is a super crowded frequency from other wifi devices and things like baby monitors (took me forever to realize that my baby monitor was making my Roku drop a few years ago).

Also, I think of this as only a temporary solution as it still doesn‘t tackle the root of the issue nor the fact that this happened so suddenly. Sure, portforwarding solves that but I‘ll have to activate and deactivate some of those depending on the console I wanna play online on.

Oh, if only the weak Wi-Fi was my problem! I‘ve been on and off working to fix the fact the router I received at the beginning of August pretty much blocks all online gaming and that not even since I got it but since the beginning of October, from one hour to the next.
